TON blockchain, renowned for its innovative approach to digital transactions, has introduced a groundbreaking reduction in transaction fees. Effective immediately, users will experience a 2.5-fold decrease in transaction costs within the network.

The project team has detailed that transaction fees will now fluctuate based on the dollar value of the native token. For instance, the commission for the first transaction with Jettons will be approximately $0.06 per Toncoin (TON), followed by subsequent transactions costing only $0.04.

Additionally, starting April 16, transactions involving USDT will benefit from a special discount. The initial transaction fee has been lowered to 0.02 TON from 0.032 TON, with subsequent transactions reduced to 0.0145 TON.

Looking ahead, the next node update promises to introduce pre-compiled smart contracts, a significant enhancement to the platform's functionality. This update will allow popular smart contracts written in C++ to be embedded directly into the node, reducing resource consumption and associated fees.

Despite a temporary decline in TON's market value post-announcement, the blockchain's commitment to enhancing its infrastructure and reducing transaction costs signals a positive trajectory for users and investors alike. With forthcoming updates including gas-free transactions, Wallet 5.0 enhancements, and new Teleport cross-chain technology, TON continues to demonstrate its dedication to driving blockchain accessibility and innovation.
