Uniswap Labs, at the forefront of revolutionizing the decentralized crypto exchange Uniswap, is rolling out a nominal 0.15% fee, effective as of Tuesday, for transactions involving ETH, USDC, and a range of other tokens. This fee pertains specifically to exchanges carried out through Uniswap Labs' primary user interface.

It is crucial to differentiate this fee from Uniswap's existing "protocol fee," which falls under the purview of governance voters. The fee being instituted by Uniswap Labs is designed to establish a sustainable financial foundation for the company's ongoing ventures, as elucidated in a recent blog post.

Hayden Adams, the visionary creator of Uniswap, underscored:

"This interface fee is one of the most competitive in the industry, and it will enable us to maintain our efforts in researching, developing, building, and expanding the realms of crypto and DeFi," in a statement via Twitter.

The recently introduced "interface fee" will impact transactions involving a combination of at least two of the following tokens: ETH, USDC, WETH, USDT, DAI, WBTC, agEUR, GUSD, LUSD, EUROC, or XSGD, according to details outlined in the FAQ. Notably, exchanges involving stablecoins will be exempt from this fee, as will transactions between ether and wrapped ether.

Following the dissemination of this information, a Uniswap representative clarified:

"both the input and output token need to be on the list for the fee to apply (not just on one end)."
