Groundbreaking Trial: Grab's Superapp and Circle Forge Ahead with Web3 Wallets in Singapore

Grab, in partnership with stablecoin facilitator Circle, is set to initiate a trial for a cutting-edge Web3 wallet integrated into the Grab superapp.

This innovative Grab Web3 Wallet will be accessible to users of the platform, encompassing ride-hailing, food delivery, and digital payment services, based in Singapore. It will empower them to utilize vouchers in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), unlocking opportunities to earn rewards and unique collectibles, as highlighted by the collaborating companies. The initial phase of this trial is scheduled to coincide with the Singapore Grand Prix on September 17.

With an extensive user base of approximately 180 million, Grab stands as one of the most widely embraced consumer applications across Southeast Asia. Complementing this, Circle oversees the operations of the USD Coin (USDC), a stablecoin firmly anchored at a 1:1 ratio to the U.S. dollar.

During the Token2049 event held in Singapore, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire expressed his optimism, envisioning a forthcoming scenario where seamlessly integrating Web3 and transacting stablecoins becomes a reality for a billion users, suggesting a paradigm shift in the digital landscape.
