ARK Invest's Strategic Moves: $33M Coinbase Shares Sold Alongside $5.9M Reduction in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust Holdings

ARK Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has recently orchestrated calculated maneuvers within the investment arena. They strategically divested a considerable portion of Coinbase (COIN) stock as the cryptocurrency exchange's shares soared to a 19-month pinnacle. This divestment, totaling $33 million, was prompted by the recent upswing in the value of Bitcoin (BTC).

During the sale, COIN shares underwent notable fluctuations, reaching a zenith of $147.86 before settling at $140.20, signifying a marginal 0.63% decline. ARK Invest orchestrated the sell-off across three of its exchange-traded funds (ETFs): Innovation (ARKK), Next Generation Internet (ARKW), and Fintech Innovation (ARKF), shedding a total of 237,572 COIN shares.

In tandem with the Coinbase stock sale, ARK Invest also liquidated 168,127 shares from Grayscale's Bitcoin Trust (GBTC), amounting to roughly $5.9 million. Noteworthy is the fact that GBTC shares concluded the day at $35.10, achieving their highest valuation since December 2021.
